Led by Motivation Outreach was founded in 2022 with a clear and unwavering purpose: to serve people who are struggling—not because of poor choices, but because life happened.
From the beginning, the organization was established as a nonprofit, rooted in compassion and driven by action. The inspiration came from witnessing too many individuals and families fall through the cracks of existing systems—people denied assistance not because they didn’t need help, but because they weren’t considered “down enough.” A woman behind on rent but not yet evicted. A person without food assistance because they owned a car. Veterans, parents, and hardworking individuals facing hardship with nowhere to turn.
At the same time, harmful misconceptions about homelessness persisted—labeling people as lazy, undeserving, or beyond help. Those narratives ignore reality. Many people are just one paycheck, one illness, or one unexpected event away from losing stability.
The heart behind Led by Motivation Outreach reaches back decades. In 1989, after seeing a man sitting in freezing rain while the world walked past him, a simple act of compassion—bringing socks and a blanket—sparked a lifelong commitment to serving those in need with dignity. That commitment has never wavered.
What began as purchasing meals for individuals experiencing homelessness grew into consistent outreach: distributing toiletries, filling backpacks with food and water, and building trust within the community. Today, Led by Motivation Outreach is focused on creating lasting impact by forming partnerships with organizations, businesses, and community leaders to provide not just temporary relief, but real opportunities for stability.
We serve the disenfranchised—veterans, families, individuals facing job loss, those recently released from incarceration, and able-minded individuals experiencing homelessness who are seeking a second chance. Our approach is hands-on, collaborative, and rooted in respect.
Led by Motivation Outreach operates with a simple but powerful promise: we do not charge for help. Ever. From haircuts and clothing to interview preparation, transportation assistance, and job readiness support, we meet people where they are and walk alongside them as they move forward.
This work is driven by compassion, integrity, humility, and a deep commitment to community. We believe in measurable impact, continuous improvement, and welcoming people from all walks of life. Most importantly, we believe that everyone deserves to be seen, supported, and given a fair opportunity to rebuild.

Led by Motivation Outreach is founded and led by Sonya McQueen, whose leadership is defined not by distance, but by presence.
Sonya remains actively involved in the field and in the community, working directly alongside volunteers and those being served. Her approach is outreach-focused and deeply personal, meeting people where they are, listening without judgment, and removing barriers with compassion and accountability.
She believes leadership means showing up consistently, doing the work when no one is watching, and ensuring every person is treated with dignity. Under her leadership, Led by Motivation Outreach prioritizes action over optics and people over process.
Sonya’s vision is simple but powerful: to help able-minded individuals regain stability, confidence, and opportunity, without charging a single dollar and without asking them to prove they are “worthy” of help.
